Covid Precautions

What we are doing for you

During these uncertain times we are taking all precautionary measures to look after our patients and staff.

Infection control processes have always been in place at NAPHC as part of our accreditation requirements and these continue to a high standard. In addition to our regular infection control methods we have introduced the following:

  • Mandatory hand sanitising by patients prior to using pens, clipboard and EFTPOS machinery. These are wiped down with antibacterial wipes after patient use as well as reception counter and chairs.
  • There will only be one patient (+ carer) allowed into the waiting room and consulting room at one time. Additional family members/friends etc will not be able to enter the premises.
  • Patients who display ‘cold-like’ symptoms will have their temperatures checked and will be required to wear a mask prior to entering the premises.

COVID 19 and our patients

We have received an abundance of phone calls from patients with congenital heart diseases of all ages with questions regarding their risks and special precautions that should be taken. Our doctors have recommended all patients follow the guidelines as per the Ministry of Health available on: https://www.health.gov.au/news/health-alerts/novel-coronavirus-2019-ncov-health-alert

We recommend practicing appropriate precautions and if you are concerned, please stay at home.

Appointments will otherwise be proceeding as normal unless told otherwise by our staff.

Stay safe everyone!
